A new social layer for XRPL

A chart shows a token. A profile can show the decisions around it. This update takes the first step toward social trading on the XRP Ledger.

From finding tokens to understanding people

Search, profiles, the public feed, follows and discussions were the groundwork. This release connects those pieces to opted-in wallet activity: entries, exits, positions and available profit or loss.

The aim is not another list of winners. It is a place to see more context, ask better questions and learn from decisions — including the ones that did not work out.

Built for both sides of the conversation

For traders

Put activity in the context of a profile, rather than an isolated screenshot. Share decisions and discuss the outcome.

For curious readers

Follow people, explore the tokens they discuss and compare an entry with what happened next. You decide what to do with that context.

For communities

Give a conversation something concrete to refer to: the token, the activity and the person sharing it. A post is not an endorsement.

What this first release connects

  1. 01

    A profile you control

The feature uses the wallet your named profile has already proved. It does not let you attach a stranger’s wallet to your name.

  2. 02

    Your choice to share

Review the one-time prompt or Manage profile → Trading. Watching is off by default. Read the testing notes before switching it on.

  3. 03

    Activity gains context

Recorded movements can become feed posts and a profile portfolio. Existing follows, reactions and comments make them part of a conversation.

This is read-only observation. Trade through the tools you already use; xrp.ONL does not hold your funds, place orders or copy another person’s trades.

What to check while testing

Compare the entry, token amount, exit and displayed result with your own record. Report missing activity, an unclear label or a result that does not add up. Please do not post a seed phrase, secret or private account detail in feedback.

Current tracking and privacy limits

A watch is now anchored to a validated ledger when you opt in, and the first cut's collected trade data is reset rather than reused. New public event identifiers no longer contain the source transaction hash. The XRP Ledger itself is public, though: timing, token and amount can still make correlation possible. This is privacy by data minimisation, not anonymity.

How to read profit and loss

The position calculation uses average cost in XRP. Realised PnL describes the portion exited; open PnL uses an available price mark, not a guaranteed sale price. Some swap legs need estimated prices. When the cost or proceeds are not known, the feed now leaves realised PnL absent rather than turning unknown into zero. Token-for-token swaps can still rely on xrp.ONL's own price marks on the profile, so compare the displayed result with your own record. This is not a complete wallet statement or tax report.

Why activity may be delayed or labelled differently

The current profile read uses a five-minute freshness window; this is not a continuous live trading terminal. Movements are interpreted from token balances, so an exit can include a transfer rather than a market sale. Burns are written off from the position and are no longer published as sells. Longer-history limits and order grouping still need testing. Do not assume every line is one matched exchange order.

What happens when I turn it off?

Manage profile → Trading asks you to confirm Delete and stop. This requests deletion of the collected trades and portfolio and removal of their feed posts, not just a pause. It does not erase transactions from the XRP Ledger or copies already made outside xrp.ONL.

A first step worth testing — and improving

The social layer is part of the direction we are building toward, not a finished trading platform. The next work is to harden tracking, make the accounting clearer and improve the experience with feedback from people using it.

You do not need to make a trade to help: explore the public feed, follow a profile, ask a question and tell us what would make the activity easier to understand.

Social trading is more than a token chart. It’s people, decisions, and the context behind a trade. This update brings opted-in wallet activity to profiles on the XRP Ledger: entries, exits, positions, and profit or loss where pricing is available. For traders who want to share, and communities that want to understand. It’s an early, read-only release, not automatic copy trading. Explore it. Check the details. Help shape what comes next.
